I love this job!! After years of being cooped up in a hospital kitchen I finally learned to drive and went to work for the previous owner of the business. When he retired I took over the business and now he helps me, talk about circles!! Now I get to drive around Northumberland all day, the area I fondly describe to southerners as the last English county they drive through to get to Scotland, their loss if they don't stop. Don’t get me wrong, its hard work and sometimes long hours getting everything prepared, especially in the run up to Christmas and that starts mid September, but now I wouldn't want to do anything else.

I carry great stock from a great supplier at great prices, with thousands of birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate every week, never mind just treating yourself or the family, my task is simple. Display the stock I have in front of savvy customers who recognise value for money when they see it, and the products sell themselves.

It might be fanciful, but I get a bizarre satisfaction in looking at the pile of cardboard boxes I’ve emptied during the week and thinking "I've worked hard in emptying those boxes, sold the contents to many many satisfied customers, I’ve provided them with something they couldn't buy at the same price, or sometimes even find in a regular retail outlet. I can relax this weekend and enjoy my glass(s) of wine, I’ve done my good deeds for the week."

I’ve been really looking forward to this website launch and the prospect of better interaction with new and established customers, and this is just the first step. There will be lots of new ideas popping up in the next few months. I'll speak to you soon, either in the virtual or the real world.
